Inshore fishing on Friday, September 8, 2006
Report posted by Capt. Lindsay Fuller of the June Bug on 9/22/06

June Bug took Mike Bercek and his two brothers fishing inshore today.  Sea conditions were lovely however the fishing was really messed up due to the storm that had gone through a few days before.  We had asked Mike to switch from Monday, September 11 to accomodate a doctor's appointment and he's lucky that he did.  Sunday and Monday turned into blowouts with yet another hurricane rushing by offshore.

In any event, the Bercek's had a fine day catching quite a few keeper Sea Bass, a Porgy, several Croakers, and some spike weakfish that we wondered how their mouth was big enough to bite the hook.  They wree only about 6" long.

The Fluke have basically disappeared since the last storm.  We caught a couple of shorts but none to keep.  Boats have fished way offshore for Fluke without success.

There are lots of Bunker pods showing up though.  Once the water cools a little, the Stripers will be close behind.

We have a couple of overnight chunking dates available before we move south for the winter.  Call me at 609-685-2839 to discuss.

Capt. Lindsay Fuller
