Inshore fishing on Sunday, August 13, 2006 Report posted by Capt. Lindsay Fuller of the June Bug on 8/13/06 June Bug fished the Michael DeVirgilio party today. We went to the AC Pots looking for the Mahi and King Mackerel that had been there in quantity for the last few weeks. The Pots themsel;ves held zero fish. We did catch a free swimming Mahi. a 15 pounder, between pot sets. There were several other Mahi with that one but they did not take a bait. They did attack a dragging short rigger bait as we were fighting the one Mahi that hooked up. For several hours, that was it. No further action. Why the sea conditions were nice and the day warm, it is always better when a few more fish hit the deck. We moved back inshore to a drop off we know of and found some Frigate Mackerel and small Bluefish just banging baitfish. We caught a few Frigates and a whole slew of 1 to 3 pound Blues before quitting for the day. The offshore picture this weekend is a common story. The fish have fins and tails and know how to use them. Most canyons had boats with zero to a few tuna. The hot boat in the Careret had 4, all on the troll. We have an overnight trip available for next Saturday, August 19. Call me on my cell at 609-685-2839. Capt. Lindsay Fuller
